LOCATION:
Retreat Selous Game reserve is located in the northwestern part of the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, and consists of three units with a total of 12 exclusive and spacious suites in the heart of unspoiled nature. Each tent suite is between 100 – 220m ². All of them are located in a discreet distance to the main house , are over six feet tall and covered by huge palm roofs . Decorative and lovingly furnished , they fit seamlessly into the natural environment and ensuring absolute romance and privacy.
Each suite has a private terrace with generous seating , a relaxation area and a handmade copper bathtub , brass or silver. Ethnic elements , antique furniture , natural materials and semi-precious stones were combined and spread an atmosphere of comfort and natural luxury.
The Selous is the largest protected animal of the continent and is known as one of the last mysteries of Africa.
Elephant, lion, black rhino , leopard , wild dog , giraffe, hippos and crocodiles, numerous gazelles and over 400 different bird species can be seen here. Guests can experience one of the last intact ecosystems in the world and discover this at their own pace .
THE SUITES :
EAGLE HILL SUITES
The six Eagle Hill suites offer breathtaking views of the hills overlooking the wide plain and the river. They form a unit together with the fort, with the huge infinity pool , the main restaurant , a wide variety of chill-out lounges, both towers and the Star Bar .
Each three Eagle Hill Apartments are located west and east of the fort guests of Eagle Hill Suites experience their safaris in open 4 × 4 Land Rovers . Meals are usually served in the main house .
RIVER SUITES
The three River suites each measuring 160 square meters and are slightly raised to Teakplattformen on the banks of the river. A 60 -square-foot observation deck with a private pool and designer loungers are available to relax or enjoy wildlife viewing . Together with the Lion Suite, an infinity pool with a bar and restaurant area together they form the River Camp .

LION `S SUITE
One 220 square feet , residents enjoy the beautiful Lion’s River Suite . It sits on a solid wood platform and features a private dining area, a sun deck with plunge pool and another , separate tent of 60 square meters including a private bathroom. This tent can either ” children ” or ` set up as a chill-out lounge for honeymooners and used.
In Safaris guests of Lion River Suite is a private guide and exclusive use of a Land Rover available. Meals are served either in the restaurant on the river, in their own suite or in surprising locations in the bush with unforgettable sundowners.
HIPPO POINT
At 3,000 square meters, is located approximately two kilometers away from the main house Hippo Point . The two private , 160 -square-foot suites are completely secluded from the rest of the camp on Teakplattformen each with an individual small pool. Guests have a private infinity pool , sun deck for relaxation and game viewing right on the water , a private bar, a lounge and dining areas with private butler and chef . In addition, owning a vehicle , a butler and chef as well as a boat with a private guide are available.
The Hippo Point is ideal for guests who are looking for complete seclusion but also for families or groups of friends . Meals can be taken either at Hippo Point or to any place , such as in the wilderness or together with the other guests in the main house .
THE FORT
The higher up the main house , called Fort, was built on the remains of a military view point from the first World War. It exudes a sublime atmosphere and features a huge infinity pool and several observation towers , from which guests can enjoy 360 ° views of wild bushland and river. The strong influence in this region of the former East African trade is reflected in the interior resist : Traditional textiles, furniture and decorative items from Asia, Arab countries and different coastal states of Africa were refined and tastefully combined.

The Sternenbar in the open air and with wonderful views is the perfect place for a sundowner . The double wall tent can be opened and floating around. Thus , the guest experiences very authentic but fully protected by a mosquito net the African bush with all the unfamiliar sounds, the cool night breeze and looking directly into the free wilderness.
Even the extremely comfortable king size beds are protected by a silk mosquito net. Each suite also houses a bathroom with a separate shower and a specially -built sink made of semiprecious stones.
RESTAURANT & BAR :
The excellent cuisine is inspired international and African. We exclusively use fresh and local produce. Vegetarian and religious claims can be met. The kitchen is under the direction of a three -star chef from Switzerland.
The many large and small terraces with the two towers offer a variety of food options privately or in groups. Accordingly, the meals can be taken almost anywhere. Depending on the weather and Sun breakfast, lunch and dinner are each arranged differently . There is also the possibility for a bush breakfast , a bush lunch or a bush dinners, where chefs prepare fresh directly under the open sky exquisite food .
