During this time thousands of animals, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, eland, hartebeests, kudus, Wildebeests and the rarely seen Oryx, migrate from the dry Maasai Steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lake Manyara is a scenic gem as written by Ernest Hemingway “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. As visitors enter the gate they pass into the high forest, home to troops of baboons and both blue and vervet monkeys. Further along the forest opens up into woodland, grassland, swamps and beyond the soda lake itself. Covering 200km2 it is sanctuary to over 400 species of birds including flamingo, pelican, storks, ibis, cormorant and Egyptian geese. The park is particularly noted for its huge herds of buffaloes and elephants. Also giraffes, hippos, reedbuck, warthog, wildebeest, zebras and a great variety of smaller animals can be seen.

Day 6:
Lake Natron – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you proceed your Safari to Serengeti. You will pass the 17 corners up to the Great Rift Valley escarpment. At the top you have the most beautiful view of the Ngorongoro highlands, Mount Oldonyo Lengai and the Lake Natron. Picnic lunch will be served there. You proceed with your journey to Serengeti with game drives en route.
The Serengeti offers endless savannahs, the so-called short – and long grass savannas, the stunning island of mountains, called Kopjes, acacia forests and small soda lakes and some rivers. One of the pervasive experience in Tanzania’s largest National Park is the struggle to the death between predator and prey. Golden-maned lion prides make thanks to the abundance of grazers, rich booty. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while many cheetahs roam the southeastern plains. At no other place in Africa, all three African jackal species occur together as here. And then there is also the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval. You will arrive at the camp in time for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Kati Kati Camp, Tortilis Camp or Acacia Camp

Day 7:
Serengeti National Park
Today you will have a full day game drive in the Serengeti. The Serengeti is rich in its diversity of landscape. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. You will have your lunch outside while game drives. The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous Aardwolf to the beautiful Serval cat. Two World Heritage Sites and two Biosphere Reserves have been established within the 30.000km2 region. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. There is more to see in the Serengeti than large mammals. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite kopies. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, as have 500-plus bird species, ranging from the outsized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills. In the later afternoon you will return to the Camp for dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Kati Kati Camp, Tortilis Camp or Acacia Camp

Day 8:
Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Karatu
After breakfast you will leave Serengeti National Park and pass the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On you way you will visit a massai bomaThe massai reside near many game parks and their dress is very distinctive. Consequently, they are probably the most well-known African ethnic group in the world. Massai culture is intricate and fascinating. Roles are determined by age, wealth and position in the community. Men are warriors and herders, and cattle play a central role in their lives. The more cattle, the wealthier the warrior and his wealth then enables him to take multiple wives. Herds are large and warriors constantly wander on the mountain and surrounding plains seeking pasture for their animals – often camping out. In the later afternoon you will arrive at your Lodge in Karatu.
Accommodation: Endoro Lodge

Tag 9:
Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
After an early breakfast you will leave the Serengeti and start for Ngorongoro Crater tour. Enjoy the view from the crater rim and you will understand when we talk about the masterpiece of mothers` nature. You descend to the crater floor for a spectacular game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater was formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. The caldera is about 600m deep and covers 250km2. It hosts about 30.000 large animals including some of the Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Thanks to anti-poaching patrols the number of black rhinos is about 25 now. Most of the animals stay in the crater year around, because water supplies never dry out. You will find hippos, hyena, jackal, cheetah, lions, ostrich, elephants, warthog, eland and hartebeests there, as well as huge herds of Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles. Even leopards find their home in the trees and forests, surrounding the crater, but are rarely seen. The landscape around the Crater the “Ngorongoro Conservation Area” is made famous by large herds of giraffes and the migration of millions of wildebeest, zebras, eland and endless numbers of gazelles from Serengeti to NCA and back each year. Lunch will be served at the hippos’ lake. Later in the afternoon you will return to your Lodge for Dinner and overnight.
